Configure how article date ranges render as period bars below cards and across lanes.

The overlapping ranges make stacking visible. Switch period lines between each lane baseline and the shared axis, then adjust spacing and thickness without reloading the articles. Click a timeline card to make it active before hiding its period line.

One article, Archive catalog, loads with hidePeriodLine: true in its data, so its bar is intentionally missing until you show it — per-article data can override the timeline-wide default.
